Nitrates Filter

Sulphates Filter
Filter System Benefits:
Sulfate is salt compounds found in almost all natural water supplies. The primary source of sulfate is gypsum rock. Sulfate is also formed in surface waters by oxidation of sulfides, sulfites and thiosulfates (for example, near abandoned coal mines). Waters containing high concentrations of sulfate have a bitter taste and a pronounced laxative effect on those not accustomed to it: Visitors Beware! High sulfates can be corrosive to plumbing although it's not as bad as equal amounts of chloride salts. High sulfate also readily attacks concrete and the rate is accelerated by a lower pH. High sulfate in boiler water and cooling water in the presence of calcium hardness produce a white scale which is only slightly soluble in acid and is difficult to remove. The growth of sulfate reducing bacteria which produce hydrogen sulfide requires sulfate to be present in the water.
